Birmingham City F.C.

First called Small Health Alliance, they were formed by cricketing enthusiasts who were part of the Trinity Church congregation. They first played on Arthur Street, basically on waste land. Some of notable managers include Alec Watson, Bob Roberts, Frank Richards, Leslie Knighton, Bob Brocklebank, Arthur Turner, Stan Cullis, Fred Goodwin, Sir Alf Ramsey, Jim Smith, Ron Saunders, Barry Fry, Trevor Francis, and Steve Bruce.

They have failed to win either the division one championship (6th best finish) or the FA Cup but did manage to win the League Cup in 1963. Their best side was in the early sixities, and had notably success in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup competition, reaching the final to Barcelona in 1960 and A.S. Roma in 1961. The club has twice sold a player for an English record fee, Bob Latchford to Everton for £350,000, and Trevor Francis to Notts Forest for £1,000,000.

Trevor Francis was a huge fans favourite, a delicate winger who scored one in every three games for the blues. He went on to manage the club, he achieved relative success, taking the blues into the play offs three years running they failed to get past the semi final stages. Steve Bruce a star in the defense of Francis's side took over as manager.

He managed to gain promotion to the Premiership for the first time in the clubs history. Most seasons since then have been about staying in the league and the annual relegation battle.
